Excerpt from First Annual Report of the Washington Monument Association of the First School District of Pennsylvania, 1860: With the Report of the Committee on Monument, Charter, by-Laws, List of Officers, and Board of Managers and Standing Committees

Resolved, That the Directors of the several Sections be requested to appoint two delegates, to meet on the 5th day of October, A. D. 1858, at 8 o'clock P. M., at the Chester Street School House, (chester street, between Eighth and Ninth, and Race and Vine,) for the purpose of taking such action in the matter as may be deemed advisable.
