The questions are varied and include discussion questions, research, planning of experimental procedures and consolidation of prior learning. The questions clearly reflect the fact that the book is aimed at higher tier pupils and provide excellent extension material. At the end of each section are series of activities. Again the activities are interesting and varied, consisting of comprehension exercises and excellent ICT activities... My pupils' reactions to the book was very favourable. In particular they liked the use of colour to highlight the questions and the high quality diagrams... Primarily focused at Higher tier candidates, the book covers separate chemistry and the chemistry component of Single and Double Award Science. This revised edition includes innovative practical activities and highlights opportunities for incorporating ICT into science lessons. Emphasis is also placed on the new "Ideas and Evidence strand of Science 1". A wealth of exam questions is provided to offer students considerable practice prior to their final examination.
