This text analyzes the processes of privatization and entrepreneurial formation by countries and subjects, and points out the different features they acquire in various post-socialist countries through an interdisciplinary and historico-comparative approach. The various chapters examine how the lack of flexible labour and capital markets are hampering the substitution of the institutions of socialism with those of the market economy. Also examined are the contradictions between the macroeconomic stabilization policies and the long term aims of systemic change.
