A few years ago I published a manual for Confirmation and first Confirmation and first Communion under the title, "Catholic Faith and Practice." The fact that, although an expensive book, it passed through three editions in one year, seemed to indicate that it supplied a need. Many friends, however, ex pressed the opinion that the book was both too large and too costly for general circulation, and suggested that I should write a smaller and simpler manual. The present little volume is the outcome of this suggestion.
