That the appearance of the Petit Vocabulaire met a real want felt by a large number of teachers of French in the Fatherland is, I think, sufficiently testified to by the fact that the little book has already run through twenty five editions.

It may, therefore, not be considered too sanguine on my part, if I express the hope, that the English edition will likewise be welcomed in many schools of this country.
