In Chapters I to V is given a general outline of the physics and chemistry of the gas engine and a discussion of gas engine fuels, leading up to Table 3 which gives the relative power yielded by var ious fuels in a given engine. Chapters VI to IX give a discussion of the action in a gas engine cylinder, from the de signer's point of View, leading up to Chap ter X, which gives the method of finding the size of cylinder for a given power.
