But those who hear rule in the Church of Christ, should not only ascertain the gentrineness of their piety, but possess the graces of the Christian in more than their ordinary degree of perfection. Their piety should not only be real but conspi cuous. Without attempting to enumerate all the traits in which their exemplariness should be manifest, it may not be amiss to give prominence to a few.
