Among the necessary conditions to the ultimate adoption of the Metric System in medicine and pharmacy, a willingness on the part of the younger members of the professions to take the trouble to use it, and on the part of the colleges to teach it, are most important. The recognition of the superiority of this system of weights and measures, and of the desirability of its adoption, has been general and earnest, and the new pharmacopaia, the working formulae of which will be in parts by weight, will give a new and powerful impetus to this reform.
