The language is that of everyday life; and, as the editor of this little reader has not hesitated to remove obsolete and dialectic phrases, it is his belief that these stories appear in the ordinary language of to-day, and present a vocabulary that Will be useful both in future reading and in conversation. As to content, this is surely as interesting as that of any story that can be told in the limited vocabulary and simple constructions demanded in elementary work.
