Excerpt from An ysis of Production and Costs in High-Lead Yarding<br/><br/>The study was made in a 100-year-old stand on the Cascade Head Experimental Forest near Otis, Oregon. Stand composition was 55 per cent Sitka spruce, 35 percent Douglas-fir, and 10 percent western hem lock. Volume per acre averaged 65 thousand board feet. Results are directly applicable to high-lead settings in similar stands if equipment and crew organization are approximately the same.
