It tells of the career of a poor lad, from boyhood to age, and it has in it a number of interesting incidents which happened when the seventeen hundreds were just turning into eighteens, as the eighteen has just turned into nineteen hundred. A few weeks ago I went over the places referred to in the book, and the pleasant memories of my first reading of. It came upon me afresh, so that I am going to read it again, for the fourth time.
