Excerpt from A Study of the Equilibration Method of Determining Moisture in Coal for Classification by Rank<br/><br/>Small petri dishes were used to hold the samples during equilibration. Lids were provided for these dishes to protect the samples during weighing and transfer from one container to another. Bottles containing saturated solutions of the same salts as those used in the desiccators were used to provide properly humidified air to desiccators in bringing the pressure to atmospheric pressure at the end of the equilibration periods.
