The primary purpose of an association is to afford the members an economical method of obtaining information they can use in improving the efficiency of their herds. The records of pro duction, feed cost, and income enable the herd owner to cull out the unprofitable cows, to feed the rest according to their production require ments, and to select individual animals in the herd that are the most suitable for breeding up the inherent producing ability of the herd.
