In doing this it will be noticed that I have omitted much that might have been written on the pathology of the subject, and in other ways have laid myself Open to criticism; but if it proves helpful to the busy practitioner and furthers in any way the early re cognition and early surgical treatment of the disease, I shall have accomplished my purpose.
