Inhaltsangabe

Elisabeth Maxwell's autobiography is dominated by her life with her late husband Robert Maxwell. She describes their turbulent marriage, the deaths of two of their children, the establishment of Pergamon Press, and her struggle to maintain her own independence despite his strong personality. Robert Maxwell - frequently overbearing and a larger-than-life figure, has been the subject of millions of words in recent years. His wife tells the inside story of their life together from the moment she met the dashing Ivan du Maurier in 1944 through the good and bad times, to the end of his life and the turmoil that followed. She is perhaps the only person to really understand this complex man. This autobiography is a first-hand account of a flamboyant figure, and also a testimony to the strength of character and achievements of Elisabeth Maxwell.
