9780323909822: Nanomaterials Recycling (Micro & Nano Technologies)

Inhaltsangabe

Nanomaterial Recycling provides an update on the many benefits nanomaterials can provide on both environmental and economic issues. Sections cover the appropriate recycling strategies of nanowastes, nanowaste regulations (including nanowaste disposal and recycling standards), promising applications (reuses) of these recycled nanomaterials, and various methods used for the separation of nanoparticles, including (i) centrifugation, (ii)solvent evaporation, (iii) magnetic separation, (iv) using pH/thermal responsive materials, (v) molecular antisolvents, (vi) nanostructured colloidal solvents, and more. This book is an important reference source for materials scientists and engineers who are seeking to increase their understanding of nanomaterials, recycling processes and techniques. As nanomaterials can be recycled from both new/pure products (from nano manufacturing) and used products (nano waste: waste from nano integrated products), this book is a welcomed addition to many disciplines.

Nanomaterial recycling offers many benefits on both environmental and economic issues. Nanomaterials can be recycled from both new/pure products (from nano manufacturing) and used products (nano waste: waste from nano integrated products). In addition, the recycled current construction waste, plastics and textiles may contain nanomaterials These nano sources in the waste stream recycling process could be liquid (suspensions containing nanoparticles) or solid (solid matrices integrated with nanoparticles). To recover these nanowastes, various methods have been used for separation of nanoparticles, such as (i)centrifugation, (ii)solvent evaporation, (iii) magnetic separation, (iv) using pH/thermal responsive materials, (v) molecular antisolvents, or (vi) nanostructured colloidal solvents. To archive the efficient recycling, the effect of recycling process on the intrinsic recyclability properties of nanomaterials (thermal/ mechanical/ chemical/ magnetic/ optical properties) are required.

This book provides information on the recycling of nanomaterials. It focuses not only on the appropriate recycling strategies of nanowastes, but also on the nanowaste regulations (including the nanowaste disposal and recycling standards). In addition, the promising applications (reuses) of these recycled nanomaterials are also presented. It is an important reference source for materials scientists and engineers who are seeking to increase their undeerstandingi of nanomaterials recycling processes and techniques.
