Lennox Lewis was born in East London of Jamaican parents but from the age of eight was raised in Canada. Indeed, it was for Canada as an amateur boxer that he won the gold medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Now domiciled in England again, he is the first world heavyweight boxing champion Britain has produced in over a hundred years.
