The Russian Revolution of 1917 was an event of the greatest importance, and much has been written about its leaders. But the social groups which were crucial to its development and outcome have been less frequently written about. This book brings together a number of prominent British researchers who were asked to plug the gap by using the most recent specialist studies in both the West and the Soviet Union.
