Karen Kansas Dwyer graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in home economics and a master's degree in communication. She has taught junior and senior high school home economics for eight years, and has worked as a microwave specialist and instructor for Sharp Microwave Ovens and as a home economist for Litton Microwave Ovens. Currently, she gives microwave presentations for community organizations and television, and teaches public speaking at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
