She earned an MA in the history and philosophy of science and technology from the University of Athens, Greece, and in 2008, she earned a PhD in the history of ancient astronomy at the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, Imperial College, University of London. Since then Mastorakou has been a junior fellow at Princeton.
