Research on small groups played a central role in the development of social psychology, but publication of such studies was seen to decline in recent decades. One explanation given is that the focus of the work shifted from general social psychological theories to practical applications for the specific types of groups studied, results of which appeared in publications geared to those specific concerns. The present collection gathers such studies once again in a social psychology context. The types of groups studied herein include educational, industrial, community activism, health care, and juries. Interaction over the Internet is also examined as a new paradigm of what constitutes a "group." Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
