It is no answer or excuse to the public to say, that the Humane Society does not ex tend so far, since the fund on tonnage, whioh nearly amounts annually to thirty thousand pounds, eannot be better employed than in providing the means of saving those, who might otherwise be lost in endeaxtouring to get into the Harbour.
