Had taken the pains to complete a table especially for him and oth ers like him, and that they stood among the reputa ble stock-brokers of New York? Perhaps there might have been even less difficulty in so accrediting Dorrance Co. From the fact that, whatever the actual constituency of the firm, the name had been well chosen, as the name of Dorrance was usually more than respectable, and a well-known banking house of the City had for years borne a name sound ing enough like the one in question, to make mistake easy and deception convenient.
