The Vocabulary will' be found copious and full. It has been constructed on the principle of giving the primary signification of each word, and of tracing the principal classes of derived meanings so far as is necessary to illus trate the different instances in which the word actually occurs in the Extracts. Those forms of verbs and nouns which might cause difficulty to the learner have been given in separate articles. Great care has been taken to make the Vocabulary complete, but it will be a'wonder indeed if no word or phrase has been omitted. The Author will feel much obliged by teachers Or others informing him of any such omissions, or of errata.

The Imitative Exercises have been founded on Xenophon only. It has been left~ to the diligent teacher to frame vim 'voce questions from the conversational language of Lucian, and the simple phraseology of the New Testament.
