Keep by this gully as far up as it goes. At the top of the steep part, about opposite the point where the rocks on the left side of the gully come nearest, there 1s a large stone or rock on the right side, on the top of which 1s to be seen the bench mark of the Geographical Survey. It 1s about 1000 feet above sea-level. Still keep up the gully till the plateau is reached. There hold just slightly to the right, the exact direction is between south and south-south-east, so as to cross the point of the spur thrown out in front by the green hill to the right. On no account mount the hill to the right.
