The Second Division of the Twelfth Corps, to which we belong, was received yesterday by Maj. Gen. Hooker, commander-in-chief of the Army of the Potomac. After the troops had passed in review and were again formed in line all the commanders of regiments were called to the frontand centre and introduced to Gen. Hooker. I had the honor of being introduced to him and shaking hands with him, and of being complimented for the good appearance of the regiment, and told us we should have plenty to do before long.
