In compliance with your request that I write you some of the facts concerning the life of my father, I am now sending you the following: First, let me say that I very soon found that in order to do the sub J ect justice I would have to go back further and branch out more than I at first thought to do. I have done this the more willingly because I fear that it is not being done by any one else and that if necessary facts and dates are not secured now the time will very soon come when it will be too late. I feel now very keenly that the golden opportunity for me to have secured at first hand and preserved the facts about my family and their ancestry has already passed unimproved.
