In any case, it should be noted that no insect is likely to do more than act as a check, is, many seeds will be unattacked and will be spread. I doubt whether any form of insect control will obviate altogether mechanical methods such as cutting and burning, and I have seen a good deal of Lantana under very varied conditions in and outside of India. Even under the extra ordinarily successful conditions in Hawaii, Lantana has not been exterminated and its spread has only been checked to some extent.
