This Epistle, according to the custom of St. Paul, begins with a salutation, ver. 12, then thanks to God for the progress of the church in Christianity, ver. 8 and prayers to Him to preserve and confirm it in the same, ver. 9. Seqq. (heinrichs.) The' com mencement of this Epistle is nearly the same as that oi' the one to the Ephesians, where see the note.
