Excerpt from The New-York Medical Magazine, 1815, Vol. 1

Still we cannot, in such a conviction, find sufficient reason for relinquish ing our undertaking. If we confess so much, with candor, our readers can do no less than receive our work with liberality. And while we find our security in this reciprocity, we shall consider it as our chief incentive to honorable exertion.
