New Lisbon, Wis, town of Juneau County; on the Lemonweir River and on the Chicago, Milwaukee St. Paul Railway: 40 miles north west of Portage, 50 miles east of La Crosse. It is in a rich agricultural district, and the sur rounding scenery is picturesque. Cranberries, raspberries, and other small fruits are raised and exported extensively. And the town has a good trade in grain, dairy products, and live stock. It has several churches, graded and high-school buildings; and lumber and flour mills creamery, canning factory, and berry packing establishments; a bank and a weekly newspaper. Pop. (1900)
