The author's conviction is that the Bible is primarily a book about healing. It is concerned with the healing of life at every level - mind, body and spirit, for individuals and society, for time and for eternity. This book gives an overview of the Bible from this perspective, beginning with the "leaves of shame" in Genesis and ending with the "leaves of healing" in Revelation. The main body of the book consists of a number of Bible studies, presented in Roy Lawrence's accessible and anecdotal style.

Roy Lawrence is a much respected figure in the ministry of healing. Formerly advisor in Christian healing to the Bishop of Chester, he now serves as Honorary consultant to the Churches' Advisers in Healing. He is much in demand as a speaker and is the author of 12 books including Healing and Evangelism (with Russ Parker, Triangle, 1996); The Practice of Christian Healing (Triangle, 1998) and Journey into Mystery (Triangle, 1999).
