This bulletin contains a summary of the leading results of the inquiries as to school enrollment for the census year in hand July 1, 1891, subject to revision.

The details by counties of sex and color of teachers and pupils in public schools and like details by states for private and parochial schools have appeared 1n previous bulletins.

While additional returns have swollen the aggregate of the private and parochial School enrollment already published, revision has led to casting out some duplicates and to some changes of classification.
