Excerpt from A Prophet of the Spirit: A Sketch of the Character and Work of Jeremiah

The whole book of Jeremiah has not been brought under review; to much of it no refer ence whatever has been made. The purpose has been to portray a man rather than to expound a book. Special students will at once recognize that no originality can be claimed beyond that which inheres in a pres entation guided by a definite aim. Sincere thanks are due to Professor Samuel A. Lough, of the University of Denver, not only for reading the manuscript but also for some most helpful suggestions.
