SO that you may better know what we have been striving for and what we have achieved in this new medium, I shall sketch briefly an outline of the part played by fox-case Corporation in the development of talking film.

The dream of such synchronization is as Old as the motion picture itself. Almost twenty years ago the crude expedient of having, persons speak from behind the screen was tried. Since that time innumerable methods, based upon this same idea of having light and sound originate from separate sources, have been worked out.
