As Drummond published his openings divided into pages, and designated his variations by letters instead of figures. I giye at the foot of each variation its position in the original work, the letter P followed by the number of -the original page, shows on what page-it: may be found and the letter gives the particular variation thus: my variation 1 marked P 16 L means that it may be found on the 106th page and_ variation L in his book.
