Graefe had pointed out the relation between insufficiency and squint, but since his time this relation has been largely over looked, the consequence being that the two conditions have oi ten been classed as categorically distinct, and distinct principles of treatment have been applied to them. This arbitrary separa tion of two things really the same has had a retarding influence upon the development of our knowledge of muscular anomalies.
