Excerpt from Two Peach Scales
From the Second Annual Report of the Ohio State Board of Live Stock Commissioners, for 1903, the following regarding glanders is copied: Glanders is the most dangerous and fatal disease of the horse and, at the same time, it occurs in all other domesticated animals, with the possible exception of the ox, and is not infrequently the cause of a horrible death in human beings.
For these reasons the control of this disease among horses, with a view to its ultimate extirpation, is a very important duty of the Board.
