The Learner should be particularly attentive also to make the vertical characters exactly upright, inclining neither to the right nor to the left, but more especially not to the left, like common Long-hand, a fault to which some young writers are apt. To be addicted, and against which they should be particularly cautioned, as most injurious to the general appearance of the writing, and in many ewes indicative of almost incurable imbecility in the writer himself.
