As it is humbly con ceived that all acquired knowledge should be imparted and difi'used for public advantage, and not be permitted to remain inactive, but, like the rays of light, be spread, in order to transmit and infuse a genial influence: so, whether the production be a laboured treatise on the first principles of science, or an humble essay to produce perspicuity and uniformity in the practice of business; the motive of action being the same.
