"In format, this book is a model of architectural history. The text and illustration are beautifully integrated. While few of the photographs are spectacular, all of them are adequate for their purpose and make a clear statement about what is happening architecturally. They are supplemented by numerous plans and drawings, which, by the way, reveal that Asplund was a superb draftsman (one would like to see a volume of his travel sketches). Since most treatments of Asplund up to the present have been in Swedish, this book is particularly welcome. It can be recommended in the highest terms."- "Progressive Architecture"
