Excerpt from General Index of the Documents and Laws of the State of New-York: Prepared and Published Under a Joint Resolution of the Senate and Assembly of the 26th March, 1841

Resolved, (if the Assembly concur,) That there be prepared by the Clerks of the two houses, during the present year, and printed under their direction, a General index of all the Laws of this State in the manner of Burch's Index of the Laws of the United States 5 and also on Index of all the Documents since they have been separately printed in octavo stating the several subjects thereof in such a way as to facilitate reference and ai the labors of Committees.
