A survey of the passengers was conducted in June, the fifth month of the project. Results indicate that about two out of every three trips are for work purposes; one out of three is connected With air travel. Of the 807 different individuals interviewed, 56 percent were commuters and 44 percent were air travelers or sightseers.

The average benefit per trip taken is in excess of $1 measured in terms of added employment income and reduced travel costs. The estimate is conservative; the true value may be close to $2.
