The visual field in each instance was measured with the aid of a perimeter; either one modelled after Lan dolt's plan, or, where the patients were bed-ridden, with Schweigger's hand perimeter. The test objects (white and colored) were circular, one and one-half centimetres in diameter, set upon a dead black background, and fastened to long black handles.
