Again, Some anatomists have considered that the twenty-four bones and joints forming the spinal column and the canal for enclosing the medulla spinalis and its membranes, is too strongly fixed together to be dislocated, or to receive impression from external or physical agents; but experience has amply proved the fallacy of this Opinion; for the whole are liable to the same accidents, and diseases, as the brain, and all the bones and joints.
