Mr. Curtenius left this charge, May, 1755, having labored for twenty-five years, with success and accept ance, until the unfortunate advent of a colleague. After his departure, Mr. Goetschius had the ground all to him self, and sought to keep it. His effort to do so, together with his agency in obtaining the aforesaid illegal char ter, very naturally rendered him odious to the friends of his former colleague; and we are not therefore sur prised to find the latter utterly dissatisfied with his ser vices. They sought and obtained a distinct organization.
