Having-found trees and bushes that are interesting in them selves, of proper proportions and sizes in relation to each other, to the distance, and to the limits we have for the photograph (or we may trim considerably later - the scissors and trimming board being good workers in the field of photography), we note that much of the significance and beauty of masses of foliage, as of the entire pic tures, will come from the quality of the illumination. A picture near sunrise or sunset will have both better quality and better direction, a gentle, mellow light being in harmony with the largeness and repose of open country. Bromoil printing may, among methods of today, often be especially appropriate for the spirit of a scene.
