Ferdina d Mendez Pinto was a Portuguese, born about year 1510. 'becoming a fugitive from his seen a very immature age, he travelled through many parts of Africa and Asia for twenty-one years, and, by his own account, passed through a surprising number of extraordinary and distressful adventures. The translation of his travels into French forms a very thick. Tolume in quarto, and bears date in the year 1628.
