Als am 18. Januar 1701 der Kurfurst Friedrich von Brandenburg zum ersten König von Preußen gekrönt wurde, war in Berlin der Himmel trübe und der Frost beständig. Das Wetterglas hing in einer ziemlich offnen Kammer und war 16 und einhalb Grad. Gegen 10 Uhr begunte das Gewölk etwas zu brechen, und wie die Stücken auf den Wällen gelassen worden, teilten sich die Wolken ziemlich, also daß die Sonne anfing zu scheinenl).
