This book is intended to follow monroe's new primer, or to be used as supplementary to the First Reader of any series. As most of the simpler sounds of the language will have been already learned, there are comparatively few new sounds taught in this book; but new words, made up of sounds previously learned, are constantly introduced. These words are indicated at the beginning of each' lesson, except in the Letters, which are intended to present the correct form Of letter-writing, and not solely to afford additional materials for a reading-lesson.
